Venture Cup Idea Competition 2015 responds

So today I finally received some feedback on my application for the Venture Cup Idea Competition and although I didn't win anything, I think the responds will be quite useful. I especially appreciate number 4!

I'll post all the judges responds, eventhough some of them will be in Danish.

  1. Interesting idea - but no real market.

  2. Idea and value proposition well described. And like the awareness that market research, Business model (Financials) and the possibilities for protection of idea/technology are missing. It is all missing but the awareness is good.

Designbeskyttelse i stedet for patent bør i mine øjne revurderes.

  4. The idea seems to hit a spot in the market that it currently unserviced. The idea of foreseeing pain for the users also provides a good sales story. The business plan would benefit from describing and substantiating the customer pain and thereby by a consideration of the market value and business pontetial (here we would need to know more about the size of the customer pain, the potential value of the product, the expected product costs, the expected accepted prize point).

In total, 5 positive replies and 2 negative/sceptical. That's pretty good in my opinion !

Great days!

Two days ago I finally announced the TeString project on facebook in a group for danish guitarist. The responds varied but overall I got a very positive and welcoming responds.
Some thought it was friggin amazing and others thought it was totally useless - but had a nice wood design.

I had a good feeling after that post and it really motivated me to visit a few musicstores in Aarhus.

Yesterday I did just that !

First I went to 4sound Aarhus. One of the guys and two of the costumers recognised me from the facebook post, such a small world!

They had some good advise and generally seemed interested in my project. Overall they seemed to like the design, which was really nice to hear.
This is also the shop where I heard a total stranger say "TeString" for the first time, which was kinda cool!

I also visited Rock City Aarhus where I was received in quite another manner. E.g. I got this remark "Yeah, it's kind of a hillbilly pedal" because of my pedals rough look.
I then asked him which suggestions he had for improvement and he told me: "If you remember physics from the 7th grade, you should isolate the inside to avoid interference noise"

I wonder if I should have told him that I will be done with my master's degree in physics this fall, hehe.

Nevertheless I got some salesfigures for their stringsale, which is very valuabe to me.

All in all, some great days for TeString !

Testimonials

A word from my bacheloradviser in which he (amongst other things) says:

"The basic algorithm is scientifically sound and his current device could easily be generalized to be applicable to other instruments than the electric guitar, where it has been developed so far."
